In spite of challenging circumstances, Fill Machine Engineering reports highest order intake in the company’s history in 2021.

Fill’s success story continues. 2021 brought Fill its highest order intake in the company’s history, amounting to around 218 million euros. As an ideas factory for individual complete solutions, the Upper Austrian machine builders have made an excellent name for themselves internationally. With an export rate of some 90 percent, the company is extremely successful on the global market. Behind the scenes, the future has long since begun.

Boom in the ski industry
Around five million pairs of skis (alpine and cross-country) and 800,000 snowboards are manufactured every year on machines and systems from Fill. All the renowned ski manufacturers are currently investing in modernizing their production lines. The largest ski project in Fill’s history is now being implemented on behalf of Fischer Ski. Following installation, multiple complete production lines for the Fischer plant in Mukachevo (western Ukraine) will come on stream under the supervision of Fill engineers in the first quarter of 2022. With this, Fill is consolidating its position as the world’s number one in ski and snowboard production systems.

E-mobility ensures high demand
The e-mobility sector is growing rapidly worldwide. Across all of its competence centers (Casting Technology, Metal Machining Technology, Profile Technology, Plastics), Fill is playing a leading role in developing and implementing production systems in this sector. From the efficient production of electric motor casings through to battery trays. Many years’ experience in processing profiles and composite materials and highest levels of proficiency in building complex systems have earned the company an excellent reputation in this field. The portfolio of the Upper Austrian machine builders not only covers metalworking, but also includes systems for lightweight composite structures.

Record sales in the wood industry
Due to the prevailing high demand for three-layer solid wood panels, manufacturing companies in this sector are also rapidly increasing their investments. Several orders for major projects to develop and implement fully automatic production lines for the wood processing industry are currently being processed in the Wood Competence Center. Fill’s customers in the wood processing industry include the top four producers of three-layer solid wood panels in German-speaking countries.
