Lively interaction – children in focus

The summer highlights at Fill: end-of-school party and summer camp. Year-round childcare for the little ones in “Planet Filli Future”.

Machine engineering company Fill ranks among Austria’s most attractive employers and supports its employees as well as possible in their personal development and in all circumstances. With the “Fill your Life” project, Fill not only offers exciting jobs with the best career opportunities, but also a comprehensive program for the whole family.

Gurten, August 7th, 2019 – To mark the beginning of the school holidays, company mascot Filli Future invited all the employees’ children to the traditional end-of-school party. Accompanied by their parents, some 100 boys and girls celebrated the start of the summer break and enjoyed an afternoon full of fun, games, and pleasant surprises. There was something for everyone, be it a crafts corner, bungee trampoline, wheel of fortune, or water walking ball. And then when star guest Filli Future appeared in person at the party bringing ice-cream for everyone, the little ones were really thrilled.

Summer camp
Schools and kindergartens close during the summer months and many parents need suitable holiday daycare for their kids. For three weeks in August, Fill employees can simply take their children to work with them. Teachers from the Innviertel Association of Child Minders look after the youngsters superbly. Premises in the Gurten parish hall are rented specifically for this purpose. This year’s program provides creativity, technology, and variety for 14 children between the ages of three and nine over this period. They experience something new every day in exciting experiments, trips into the countryside, and making little works of art – all with mum or dad very close at hand. The Fill summer camp is taking place for the third time this year. Fill will also be offering holiday childcare for the mid-semester and Easter breaks in 2020.

Planet Filli Future
The harmonization of work and family life often poses a major challenge to young families. Fill offers all its employees a flexible flextime model. The company’s own childcare facility, Planet Filli Future, is available for their offspring. The intention is for children to feel at ease here, to be able to express their creativity, to go on a voyage of discovery, and to simply have a great time. Ergonomics, functionality, modern design, utilization of the best materials, and a harmonious yet exceptional overall picture were paramount in the planning and implementation. The educational, value-based concept is completely in keeping with Fill’s corporate philosophy and reflects the vision of “Wir sind 1! We are one!”. 13 toddlers aged between one and three are currently being cared for in a playgroup. Furthermore, a child minder is available to look after kindergarten and elementary school pupils in the afternoons. Although this service is not being utilized at present, it can be started at any time as required. The facility is managed by the Innviertel Association of Child Minders. In the form of Planet Filli Future, Fill is providing state-of-the-art workplaces and professional childcare under a single roof.

Multiple awards
The effectiveness of all these activities by the innovative machine building company is demonstrated by the good working atmosphere, the low number of sick days, and low staff turnover. Fill describes itself as “the best idea factory – for technology and people”. Accordingly, the company endeavors to develop a long-term, successful partnership not only with customers but also – and especially – with its employees.
In 2018, Fill was the winner of the provincial “Felix Familia” family prize and thereby nominated for the national “Familie & Beruf” (family & career) award. Fill came third in the category “companies with more than 100 employees”. The Federal Chancellery uses the “Familie & Beruf” award to honor Austrian companies and institutions for outstanding performance in the field of family-friendly personnel policy.
