An employee magazine celebrates its 25th birthday

Fill Machine Engineering has not only been demonstrating innovation and vision for decades in the technical field. The employee magazine “profill” is celebrating its 25th birthday.

Company founder Josef Fill gave the green light for a 25-year success story in internal communication in 1992. Since then, an editorial team comprising the company’s own employees has published 96 issues with a total of 2,037 pages. profill has meanwhile achieved cult status. The magazine provides detailed information about practically everything that happens at Fill. Maximum transparency ensures better understanding of the company’s procedures.

Gurten, 6 February 2018 – If profill didn’t exist, it would probably have to be invented. But the Fill employee magazine has already been invented – exactly 25 years ago by company founder Josef Fill. Since 1992, the workforce of the successful Innviertel-based company has received first-hand information relating to current issues every quarter. Alongside articles on projects and technical developments, social matters like sport, culture, and health are also given prominent coverage. "On its 25th birthday, our thanks go out to the editorial team and all those who regularly supply reports for our employee magazine. They make a substantial contribution to mutual understanding and hence to the success of our company," emphasizes proprietor and CEO Andreas Fill.

1000 copies per issue

The first issue of profill was completed shortly before Christmas 1992 and filled a whole eight pages. Back then, Fill was one of very few companies to publish their own employee magazine. Now profill has a professional editorial team, there are regular meetings, fixed publication dates, and it weighs in at 36 to 40 pages. From research through to layout, the Fill editors take care of everything themselves. The print run has increased to 1000 copies per issue. profill appears four times a year, and employees receive the magazine at home by post. So, rather than it only being read by the recipient, the whole family can find out what’s happening at Fill.

We are one
As well as providing comprehensive information about everything worth knowing in and around the company, profill also boosts team spirit. In addition to coverage of the many offers available to Fill employees (fitness center, company trips, sports and cultural activities, and much more), profill makes an important contribution to the collective feeling of togetherness. True to the vision in the company’s guiding principles: “Wir sind 1 | we are one!”. Alongside profill, there are many types of employee communication at Fill Machine Engineering. The most recent format is the CORE smartwork communication platform. This was developed by Fill and is now being used successfully at other international companies as well.
