Symbiosis of high-tech mechanical engineering and digital tools impresses

At the world’s leading trade fair for the aluminum industry, ALUMINIUM 2022, Fill reaffirmed its position as a leading provider of highly innovative machines and systems.

With the flexibly configurable WELDBOX welding cell and the latest generation of the ALU PRECISER aluminum panel saw, Fill presented two innovations at the ALUMINIUM 2022 trade fair from 27 to 29 September in Düsseldorf. As the industry’s most important platform, ALUMINIUM brings together producers, processors, end users, and technology suppliers along the entire value chain from more than a hundred countries.

Düsseldorf/Gurten, October 18, 2022 – “We can look back on an extremely successful trade show appearance. The interest of visitors and partners in our latest innovations was clearly noticeable. We were able to show the benefits that digital tools offer for production and how they can be optimally combined with high-tech machines,” says Erwin Altendorfer, Head of the Profile Technology Competence Center at Fill, pleased with how things went. The Innviertel-based machine engineering experts presented the ALU PRECISER and the WELDBOX modular welding cell live in action on their stand at the ALUMINIUM 2022. Numerous project inquiries from various countries ensured a good atmosphere. The Innviertel hospitality and the Fill Cocktail Lounge integrated into the stand did the rest.

Focus on automated cutting systems
With the ALU PRECISER, an aluminum panel saw was presented that is tailored to the specific needs of the aluminum industry. The ALU PRECISER was developed together with the partner Briganto. The latest generation of the panel saw not only impresses with its sturdy, long-lasting design and highest levels of precision – it is also eminently suitable for integration in highly automated cutting systems. The easy-to-use operator interface makes operation of the ALU PRECISER child’s play. The machine suggests recipes and sets all material- and tool-specific parameters on selection. The animated interface shows the operator all subsequent steps on the touchscreen and thereby guides them through the production process.

WELDBOX as trade fair highlight
The WELDBOX welding cell could also be experienced live on the Fill fair stand. This high-end welding cell is designed for carrying out various welding operations using different welding methods and offers maximum precision and flexibility. It has already been successfully used in various projects, such as welding towing eyes into bumpers or welding highly complex battery trays for e-mobility. The specially developed CYBERNETICS STUDIO software tool enables offline programming of the weld seams, while intelligent clamping concepts guarantee highest weld quality in the shortest possible time.
