Latest developments in plastics processing combined with intelligent utilization of digital information herald a new era in production. The many visitors to Fill’s exhibition stand at the K Trade Fair in Düsseldorf from October 16 to 23 were able to see this for themselves. In their Fill Future Zone, the Austrian machine engineering experts showed how virtual and real processes bind together symbiotically, thereby generating added value. Industry 4.0 and communication 4.0. Man and machine in unison.
Düsseldorf/Gurten, November 6, 2019 – “Intelligent simulation models create completely new opportunities in production planning, material utilization, productivity, and reliability. Together with leading manufacturers and partners, we are continuously developing concepts and solutions to meet current and future requirements for state-of-the-art production systems,” explained Wilhelm Rupertsberger, Head of the Plastics Competence Center at Fill, on the sidelines of the leading trade fair for plastics processing.
Live presentation on the exhibition stand
The many international visitors to Fill’s exhibition stand were able to see digitalization in all areas of a company live in action. Fill Cybernetics connects to all the machines in a factory and enhances them with intelligent algorithms. The innovative process control system optimizes not only component flows, but also machine capacity utilization. In parallel, all production and process data is collected and recorded. Platform-independent dashboards ensure an optimum overview and enable detailed analysis of production and the machine. This symbiosis of virtual and real procedures increases productivity, thereby creating added value.
New multilayer
The new, high-performance multilayer system was also presented to a specialist trade audience for the first time. The extremely fast laying of semi-finished fiber composites enables high production rates. The innovative concept is based on use of multiple laying heads. The tapes are fixed by ultrasound, which makes it possible to process the widest variety of materials. Automatic spool changing on the multilayer minimizes downtimes and ensures high system utilization.
Fill Future Zone as a communication platform
All eight days of the trade fair were marked by active interest and good attendance on the Fill exhibition stand. Trade visitors from all over the world learned about the latest innovations in plastics processing made in Austria. Upper Austrian hospitality also played an important part in turning the Fill Future Zone into the hub for the international composites scene.
