Fill is setting the course for a successful future. Two new directors took office in June 2020: Günter Redhammer (45) and Alois Wiesinger (40). They will run the Upper Austrian machine engineering company together with proprietor Andreas Fill. Günter Redhammer is COO (Chief Operating Officer) responsible for logistics and production, while Alois Wiesinger now directs the Mechatronics division as CTO (Chief Technology Officer). Longstanding Technical CEO Wolfgang Rathner, who contributed significantly to the successful development of Fill, is officially entering retirement in July 2020 after 50 years of service. This restructuring establishes the organizational preconditions for continued positive development of the internationally active high-tech company.
Gurten, 6th July 2020 – As part of the „Organisation 2020+“ strategic concept, there are changes in company management at Fill in Gurten, Upper Austria. When Wolfgang Rathner, who has worked for Fill for 50 years and has headed the company together with proprietor Andreas Fill since the year 2000, enters retirement at the end of July, two internal managers, Günter Redhammer and Alois Wiesinger, will join the executive board. „We have outstanding employees in the company, who have contributed significantly to the successful development of recent years. This is why we’ve remained true to our philosophy of filling management positions largely from our own ranks in this case as well,“ explains Andreas Fill. He adds: „Both Günter Redhammer and Alois Wiesinger bring the best foundations for their new role.“
With innovative spirit and expertise
Günter Redhammer has worked for Fill for some 30 years and passed successfully through many stations in this time: from machine builder to work scheduler, head of department and now through to managing director. The fields of logistics and production have long since been his main concern. The planned organizational realignment of the entire logistics and production process is one of his key projects in the new role as COO. Alois Wiesinger studied mechatronics at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz and operations management at the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences in Steyr. Since 2007 he has worked at Fill as a design engineer, control and high-level language programmer, product developer, innovation manager, digitalization coordinator, and technical director. As Director of Mechatronics (CTO), he will forge ahead with optimizing communication and close cooperation with various specialist disciplines and departments throughout the company. Both of them have very high levels of technical knowledge in their areas of responsibility, great interest in new developments, and tremendous innovative spirit.
Half a century dedicated to Fill
Longstanding executive director Wolfgang Rathner contributed significantly to the successful development of Fill. He started working life as a mechanical engineering apprentice in July 1970. What followed was a remarkable career, taking him all the way to the post of Technical CEO. Senior partner Josef Fill promoted Wolfgang Rathner to the executive board in 1993 and made him his deputy. Together with Andreas Fill, Wolfgang Rathner has headed the industrial enterprise in Gurten since the year 2000. He played a leading role in numerous developments and innovations, thereby contributing significantly to the rise of the business from a small metalworking shop to a leading international machine engineering company. Last April, Wolfgang Rathner celebrated his 65th birthday. He is retiring at the end of July 2020, after 50 years of service with Fill, so that he can devote more time to his family and his hobbies of soccer and golf.
